Inspired by classic 90’s video games, Quantum Quest challenges players to assemble teams of adventurers to outlast their opponents in a living dungeon. With electrifying spells, sinister traps, and treacherous monsters, survival is no easy feat.

We designed the first website for Quantum Quest in 2017 when the only thing that was part of the IP was a singular game. Since then, Michael DeAngelo (author and creator of Quantum Quest) has written a Quantum Quest novel and is planning on a 2nd Edition of the original game (called the Red Box) and an expansion to the game called Quantum Quest: Reinforcements (also called the Blue Box). In 2024, we’ve redesigned the website to not only modernize the site but to feature the novel alongside the game. Michael also runs a version of the game on his Twitch channel twice a month, which we have featured on the site.

In addition to designing the website, we moved the hosting from GoDaddy to our own hosting services. By switching to our hosting services, Michael’s site, QuantumQuestGame.com, is fast and secure with our lightning-fast, eco-friendly, secure servers.

Kickstarter Campaign

Black Furnace Games ran a successful Kickstarter campaign (raising 266.95% above their goal!) and brought Quantum Quest to life. Part of that successful campaign relied on a video for the Kickstarter page that introduces potential backers to the game. We provided audio and video services, which included a sound engineer, director, director of photography, and editor.

Future – 2024/2025

As mentioned above, Michael is preparing a 2nd edition of the original game, along with an expansion pack. Starbird Media will act as the CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) for these releases and also assist with publishing and running another Kickstarter Campaign.

In early July of 2024, while hosted on another platform, That’s Entertainment was hacked. The damage was enough that we had to step in and redesign the site. Michael didn’t want much changed from the previous design, so we largely kept the design the same and just tightened up a few elements. The site continues to generate income and targeted SEO continues to drive traffic to the site.

Writing Services

We provide ongoing writing services that include news, reviews, lists, and opinion pieces. While the strategy is creating compelling and engaging content, we also strategized which topics would attract the most views to maximize writers’ (both That’s Entertainment in-house writers and our freelance writers) time and interests.

Podcast

While the podcast was active, we recorded, edited, produced, and distributed That’s Entertainment. We also saw an opportunity to take a section of the show—about ABC’s Once Upon a Time—and spin it off into its own show.

YouTube Channel

We took the existing content on the That’s Entertainment YouTube and rebranded their page to match the current website,  organized their videos into easily digestible playlists, and provided scripted videos for the page.

Formerly known as the Philadelphia Podcasting Society, we were charged with rebranding the organization as a more inclusive creative arts organization. Wanting to capitalize on the success of the past, it was decided to simply extend the name to the Philadelphia Podcasting Society & Creative Arts Alliance. We developed a new logo and a few marketing materials (a banner, pamphlets, etc.).

Live Events

Part of the rebranding phase included jumping into the new organization’s first public event, Fan Expo Philadelphia 2023. The weekend showed a successful launch of the new brand, attracting new members from the tri-state area, a 2000% increase in newsletter signups, and the successful production of two panels and a live podcast at the convention.

Web Design

We are currently designing the website for the Philadelphia Podcasting Society & Creative Arts Alliance as a place people can go to learn more about the organization, join and support the organization, and find out what events the PPSCAA is putting together.

2023 Update

Original plans were in place to try and put together a Performance Arts Festival in Q3/Q4 of 2023. Delays may push that potential event to Q1 of 2024, but we are still trying to get all the pieces to fall together for a Q4 Festival for the organization.

We helped the client rebrand OUAT: The Unofficial Once Upon a Time Podcast into Once Upon a Wine. Given the core concept of the new vision for the podcast, we developed a new logo, brand color scheme, website, and social media presence.

Podcast Services

We developed the original podcast, OUAT: The Unofficial Once Upon a Time Podcast, to be a recap podcast about ABC’s Once Upon a Time. For the first few seasons of the podcast, we not only provided podcast hosting services but provided the two hosts of the show. After bringing the new hosting squad on, we focused on editing, production, and marketing of the show.

Live Events

We planned an unofficial New York Comic Con live podcast that partnered OUAT: The Unofficial Once Upon a Time Podcast with Everything is Awesome as an event that celebrated pop-culture, Once Upon a Time, and a screening of Once Upon the Time: The Rock Opera.

Web Services

We designed and hosted the site for both versions of the podcast. With the popularity of Once Upon a Time and the client’s parody musical Once Upon a Time: The Rock Opera, we were able to bring in sponsors and leverage Patreon as a source of income for the podcast.

As of Q4 of 2023, we have taken over maintenance of the Tellest website full-time. This includes weekly backups and WordPress management.

Web Site Consulting

We consult with Michael DeAngelo on changes to the Tellest website.

Video Production

Tellest has run several Kickstarters to launch several book series set in that fantasy world. The videos helped those crowdfunding projects reach success and books are still being released today.

Writing Services & World Building Consulting

We provided a writer who helped expand the world of Tellest by writing short stories and developing several characters. Those characters continue to be a mainstay within the world and are part of current-day stories. We also consult with Michael on those characters and newer entries within the world.

2023 Update

Part of taking over the maintenance in Q4 of 2023 was analyzing the site. In our findings, we discover that the current design leads to breaks in functionality when the site is properly maintained and updated. In Q1 of 2024, we will be designing a new site per the requirements of Michael DeAngelo while meeting today’s standards in design functionality.
